The leaderboards rank SPOOLED members by PSI, the platform's contribution score. PSI rewards posting builds, writing how-to guides, helping in forum threads, and being marked helpful by others — not noise, not algorithmic engagement bait. The leaderboards are the visible signal of who's actually moving the platform forward.
What you can find on /leaderboards
- Weekly leaders — top PSI gains in the last 7 days. The active list — who's producing useful content right now.
- All-time — cumulative PSI since the score launched. The career list.
- By tier — Stock, Tuned, Built, Spooled, Forged, Boosted, Legend. Each tier has its own threshold.
- Per-section breakdown — top builders, top how-to authors, top reviewers, top forum helpers. Useful when you're looking specifically for an authority on, say, install how-tos.
How PSI is earned
The full point schedule lives at /psi — the platform's history page also shows your own PSI events chronologically. Headlines:
- Posting a public build — substantial one-time award, plus continuing PSI for posts, mod logs, and dyno entries on it.
- Writing a how-to guide — the highest single PSI accumulator on the platform. Helpful and Completed marks keep paying long after you publish.
- Mod reviews — verified-install reviews earn meaningfully more than drive-by ones; long, honest reviews earn more than short ones.
- Forum helpful-marks — replies marked helpful by the OP or by readers earn PSI, accumulating as the thread keeps surfacing in search.
- Referrals — bringing new members onto the platform earns PSI when they themselves contribute.
Anti-gaming
PSI is built with anti-gaming in mind. Daily total cap (5,000), sub-caps per content type, like-velocity throttle (you can't farm by mass-liking one user), reply-quality gate (replies under 10 characters earn nothing), and template-detection on reviews. The rules are designed so that the only reliable way to climb the leaderboards is to actually contribute things people find useful.
Tier thresholds and what they mean
Tiers correspond to levels of contribution depth, not status purchase. Boosted+ tier unlocks mentor flags; Legend tier appears on featured surfaces. The thresholds aren't a paywall — every tier is reachable through ordinary platform use, and the math is public.
Why bother climbing
Two reasons. First: discoverability. Higher-tier members surface more often in search and recommendations, which makes their contributions more impactful — a virtuous loop. Second: the platform increasingly gates features by tier (mentor program, contests, Pro affiliate share rates), so PSI is also a stable long-term proxy for what the platform will let you do.
